Hyderabad: Personnel of Commissioner Task Force and Southern and Eastern District teams, along with Kanchanbagh, Chandrayaguta, Daburpura and Avzalgung police have arrested four gangs who committed cell phone theft in commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad and arrested nine persons.
Police confiscated 92 cell phones and two motorized carts worth Rs. 12 lakh of them. They were involved in 19 cases.
Among those arrested are Muhammad Mahmud and Muhammad Khan, residents of Hafeez Baba Najjar who used to commit the crime. They were released from prison a year ago and have since formed a gang and rented a passenger car to commit thefts. They chose one passenger. As soon as the passenger got into the car, they diverted their attention and stole their cell phones.
Muhammad Mohsen aka Sheena, a resident of Mailardevpally and a frequent criminal, is the leader of another gang. Sheena has been committing crimes since 2013. In 2020, he was arrested under the PD Act by Falaknuma Police. He was released from prison in September 2021. After his release with his friend Mohammed. Musa started stealing cell phones from motorists. They were also collecting pockets in crowded areas.
The third group consists of Mohamed Abdel Haj and Mohamed. Companion aka Toto. They used to break into homes at night and steal cell phones. Then they sold the stolen things at low prices and made easy money.
In the fourth gang, Prime Minister Muhammad accused. Mansoor and Dastgir are residents of Bahadi Sharif and are used to committing crimes. In 2021, Mailardevpally police arrested the two. They continued their illegal activities even after their release from prison. The duo rented a car and began stealing mobile phones from passengers. They committed 24 cell phone thefts at the various police stations in the city.
Acting on reliable information, the commissioner’s task force and the Southern and Eastern District teams along with the local police conducted raids and arrested the accused. The arrested persons and confiscated property were handed over to the police stations of Kanchanbagh, Chandrayanaguta, Daburpura and Avzalgung for further action.
