Microsoft is launching a new service plan for business customers called “Teams Phone with Calling Plan”. The company is integrating Microsoft 365 Business Voice and Enterprise packages to simplify the buying process and offer “enterprise-level capabilities” for small and medium businesses (SMBs).
The Teams Phone with Calling plan is a cloud-hosted telephony service that allows customers to make and receive PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) calls on landlines and mobiles in Microsoft Teams. This secure and reliable solution includes features such as voicemail transcription, call queues, advisory transfer, and automated responses. It is meant to help meet the needs of small and medium businesses.
“Teams Phone with Calling Plan is a comprehensive communications solution that helps small and medium businesses reduce costs and simplify operations. It combines calling, chatting, meetings and collaboration into a single application, enabling users to make phone calls from anywhere and on any device – including computers smartphones, desk phones, and meeting rooms. It combines the essential telephony components: the telephone system and a local calling plan, in one package,” the company explained in a blog post.
Microsoft says this new Teams Phone with Calling plan bundle will be available to customers through its partners in 33 markets starting January 1, 2022. Alternatively, companies based in the UK, US or Canada will also be able to purchase plans directly from the official website at January 3rd. The company plans to expand its availability to all Microsoft 365 subscribers worldwide in the coming months.
